After funding is complete, site preparation and drilling begin. Once the rig releases, completion crews move in, and that process typically takes one to five weeks. First revenue hits once surface facilities are connected and pipeline or trucking is scheduled. Most investors see their first production check within 60 to 120 days of funding.

Geoscientists map the subsurface using gravity surveys, magnetic data, and 3D seismic imaging to identify promising formations. They integrate data from nearby producing wells and analyze source rock, reservoir quality, seal integrity, and trap geometry. Only prospects that pass this rigorous de-risking process advance to drilling. It's methodical, data-driven work, not guesswork.

Q: How are prospects vetted before drilling?

Every prospect goes through a multi-step evaluation: geologists confirm source rock, reservoir characteristics, seal integrity, and trap structure. 3D seismic data maps the target zones. Offset well data from surrounding producers validates production potential. Only after this thorough de-risking process does a prospect earn approval to move forward. The goal is to drill where the geology says yes, not where someone hopes it will.
